Do you have ice cube trays sitting in your freezer right now? Check out these incredibly clever and simple ways you can reuse and repurpose them around your house. From kitchen treats to sickness relief, the whole family will appreciate these helpful hacks.
Freeze olive oil, coconut oil, or vegetable oil with dried or fresh herbs and spices for quick and easy cooking. Simply freeze and store in sealed bags or containers for future dinner prep. When you're ready to cook, heat the cube in a pan to melt or drop directly into hot soups or sautés.
Pour your leftover morning coffee into an ice cube tray and freeze. The next time you pour a cold glass of iced coffee, use these coffee cubes instead of regular ice cubes so your drink never gets watered down! Coffee too hot? These are also great for cooling down your cup of joe without diluting the flavor.
This is a fun one... make miniature popsicles with your ice cube tray! Chop up small fruit'such as strawberries and insert one into each tray cube. Insert a popsicle stick into the fruit to help hold it in place and then pour juice over the fruit in each cube. Freeze, then pop each one out of the mold for the perfect-sized popsicles for little kids!
Make homemade chocolates by melting chocolate in a bowl in the microwave, pouring it into the ice cube tray, and topping with your favorite treats! Try different toppings like coconut, raisins, peanuts, almonds, M&Ms®, cookie crumbs, and more. Freeze until solid and enjoy!
Fill ice cube trays with vaporizing chest rub. Pop them in the freezer to solidify. When you're sick and in need of fast relief, simply drop a frozen cube in the bottom of your warm shower. Let the steam from the cube help clear up your congestion.
